Options such as getting a hybrid car, outfitting your house with Geo-Thermal and solar, or Ditching your car all together and riding a bike aren’t quite that practical for most. May be effective ways to reduce your carbon footprint, and even feasible for a few zealots with excess income and/or time, but where do you and I start? WELL, according to a study performed by MIT and reported on by ScienceDaily.com we as Americans have a LOT of room for improvement. The study shows that U.S. average annual carbon footprint is 20 metric tons per person. How crazy is THAT?!? not sure? let me put it in perspective. The average annual carbon footprint per person globally is 4 tons per person, 1/5th that of the U.S.. As if that’s not insane enough our homeless population outputs an average of 8 metric tons.
Given this knowledge I hope you find the links below helpful in the pursuit of bettering your average.
